The Boston Celtics are riding high on a three-game winning streak at the moment following a 109-103 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on November 7 as all 30 teams in the Association played ahead of a league-wide day off on Election Day.

Boston lost the turnover battle, dished out fewer assists, and was dead-locked in the rebounding battle against Memphis this past Monday, but came out on top due to doubling up the Grizzlies on free throws. Jayson Tatum got to the free-throw line more than Memphis’ entire team, showing how much the C’s MVP candidate is taking over as a No. 1 option.

On Wednesday, the Celtics will be playing a Detroit Pistons team that is still not close to completing their rebuild since the Blake Griffin-Andre Drummond era and hasn’t won a single playoff game since the George W. Bush presidency.

Detroit is coming off a win against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but lost its previous three before that. The Pistons are 3-8, good for the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference along with the Charlotte Hornets.

Can the Cs avoid a disaster against a team they are heavily-favored against? Or will the Pistons pick up their biggest win of the season against an NBA Finals team with an actual winning record in 2022-23?

According to WynnBet, the Celtics are a 12-point favorite against the Pistons at home. Detroit is a road underdog at +490, with the Cs moneyline set at -680. The over/under for the game has been placed at 226 points.

Celtics vs. Pistons prediction

From the looks of it, the Cs seem to have figured out their identity without Robert Williams in the lineup, adding Grant Williams to the first five and pushing Derrick White to the second unit. While Williams didn’t blow statisticians away in his first start this season, he did contribute in all the typical categories (defense, rebounding) and fit in well with the starters.

Expect Boston to have little trouble with a Pistons even with Marcus Smart potentially missing the game with an ankle injury.

Pick: Celtics -12 (-110)
