2 Boston Celtics players bound to regress in 2022-23
By Mark Nilon
The Boston Celtics certainly had themselves a season to remember in 2021-22, pulling off one of the biggest 180 turnarounds in league history as they went from being a likely lottery-bound ball club leading up to the midway mark to the eventual Eastern Conference Champions.
Though they fell two games shy of bringing home banner No. 18 after losing to the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, last season was easily an all-around stunning achievement for the franchise as they look to work their way into becoming one of the league’s newest dynasties.
Brad Stevens and co. went on to keep the good times rolling right along into the summer months, as they managed to shore up several weaknesses within the C’s rotation that ultimately plagued them in the 2022 championship round.
With their efforts, the Boston Celtics now come into the 2022-23 campaign with one of the most well-rounded rotations in the association and, in turn, the odds-on favorites to take home the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
However, while this offseason has proven to be an overall net positive, there are some negatives that may have come from it as well, particularly when it comes to some of their returning players.
No, this is not us trying to insinuate that catastrophe is right on the horizon for any particular member of this current Celtics rotation, but we do believe that because of the moves made this offseason, 2 players, in specific, could be in line for some statistical regression during this upcoming campaign.
