There are many reasons why Jaylen Brown doesn’t want to be traded from the Boston Celtics — whether it be in a long-talked-about Kevin Durant trade or in a deal for someone like Bradley Beal or Donovan Mitchell.

Brown has proven indispensable for the Cs, having helped lead the team to the NBA Finals, and Eastern Conference finals twice in the last four playoffs he was healthy for. Boston won once in 2021 with Brown nursing a wrist injury.

Having spent all six seasons with the Celtics, all Brown knows is Boston. He’s lost his starting spot in a Kyrie Irving-dominated situation, he’s become an All-Star co-leader with Jayson Tatum, and this past June, he took the mantle as No. 1 option during the most important series in his career against the Golden State Warriors in the Finals.

He doesn’t want to leave and is ‘all in‘ on Boston for the long term. More so than any other reason, though, the biggest reason why a trade wouldn’t benefit Brown is that he would lose the chance to sign a super-max deal as MassLive’s Brian Robb explains:

"“If he’s traded to the Nets, the supermax possibility disappears since it can only be offered by a team that drafted a player or traded for him in his first four seasons. Brown probably wouldn’t want to play for a worse team in Brooklyn regardless if a deal is done as you said but financially, the upside for him would be less as well with any deal.”"

The Boston Celtics tweeted out a 2022-23 season tickets graphic with Jaylen Brown

Boston Celtics fans hoping for a sign from the universe that Jaylen Brown will remain in green this upcoming season may have gotten one in the form of a tweeted out graphic of No. 7 along with All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum.

Of course, things could change if the Brooklyn Nets decide to drop their price for Kevin Durant after a training camp holdout, but that graphic is being championed by pundits as the proof in the pudding Brown is staying put.
