Boston Celtics buyout target No. 2) Terrence Ross

For the last several seasons, the Orlando Magic have tried and subsequently failed to find any takers for the likes of Terrence Ross.

With no takers striking any deals, coupled with the front office’s desire to embark on a full-fledged youth movement, perhaps an early-season decision they could opt to make would be to part ways with the 31-year-old by means of a buyout and, should this happen, you already know that we believe the Boston Celtics should look to snatch him up.

For those of you who have been following our work at the Houdini for some time now, you’re likely already aware of our infatuation with the likes of Ross coming aboard this squad.

Even with their newly revamped rotation, there are still plenty of reasons to like the idea of the veteran coming aboard, particularly because of their still rather lackluster depth behind Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown out on the wing.

Ross, a natural two-three tweener, would serve as a much-needed backup to Boston’s centerpieces, while also adding even more scoring power to the team’s second unit that ranked 26th in both points per game and offensive rating last season.

As we all were made aware earlier this offseason, one of the biggest desires for head coach Ime Udoka is to see the club add on another wing, particularly one who can score, to help better fill out their bench rotation.

Considering the fact that the veteran wing has found himself posting averages of 13.8 points per game on 35 percent shooting from deep (on 6.2 attempts) since 2019 whilst predominantly coming off the pine, it’s safe to say that if he were to be found on the open market, the Celtics should absolutely look to scoop him up.
