The 2022 NBA Offseason is already shaping up to be the wildest one in league history and, apparently, the Boston Celtics could wind up playing a part in a major reason for why.

After several weeks of sizeable rumors, reports, and actual transactions, Thursday afternoon the entire sports world–yes, this goes beyond just basketball–was set on fire, as The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that All-World megastar, Kevin Durant, has requested a trade out of Brooklyn.

With this news, obviously, every fan, sports figure, and, frankly, franchise will be looking into ways their respective ball clubs can end up acquiring the superstar forward and, as of right now, the Boston Celtics are viewed as having a somewhat realistic chance of landing him.

Per Bookies.com, the C’s hold the fourth-best odds at +850 of bringing aboard Kevin Durant this summer, trailing only the Miami Heat (+500), Los Angeles Clippers (+550), Portland Trail Blazers (+800), and Los Angeles Lakers (+800), respectively.

Now, while some may not be all that interested in seeing the C’s invest their efforts in trying to construct a deal for KD (after all, such a move would see almost the entirety of the core be gutted), there are plenty of others out there who would love nothing more than to see such a blockbuster take place, and some even believe that Brad Stevens and co. could actually offer up the best offer to Brooklyn.

Obviously, such a package would be headlined by Boston’s second-star, Jaylen Brown, heading outbound which may be viewed as a bad idea for some fans, but, if it nets them (no pun intended) arguably the greatest scorer of all time who, at age 33, just finished fourth in the NBA with 29.9 points per game to go along with 7.4 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and just shy of a block, it is viewed as well worth it for many others.

What say you Celtics fans? Do you want to see Stevens go all-out for Kevin Durant this summer? Do you believe the front office should stand pat?
