Boston Celtics player No. 1) Aaron Nesmith

Aaron Nesmith has been viewed as a potential trade asset for quite some time now and, should the Boston Celtics wish to land themselves a late first-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, they could try and capitalize on the wing’s status of being a highly-touted lottery selection from just two years ago.

Now, yes, we understand that his tenure in the association thus far has been less than stellar, as he finds himself boasting averages of just 4.2 points and 2.2 boards on 42 percent shooting from the floor while also seeing numerous stints within the G League throughout.

However, at only 22 years old whilst attached to his rookie-scale deal for another couple of seasons, the third-year pro still has the potential to live up to the expectations that followed him into the association back in 2020 should he be given the proper amount of attention and guidance.

Sadly, these are not things that will be easy for a win-now team like the Celtics to provide him, but a rebuilding team with their eyes set on a youth movement might be able to shell out the type of “tender loving care” that the youngster obviously needs in order to blossom at the next level.

A tanking franchise like the Houston Rockets who holds the rights to three picks including the No. 26 selection, for example, could be highly interested in pairing some of their young lottery-selected talents such as Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. with a player who, just three years ago, saw himself averaging 23 points, 4.9 rebounds, and just shy of a block per game on 50 percent shooting from deep and who was deemed as one of the best scoring prospects from his respective class.
