The Boston Celtics took care of business on their home court Wednesday night, exacting revenge over the Golden State Warriors after an embarrassing Game 2 drubbing, as they came away from Game 3’s exhibition with a blowout victory of their won, downing the visiting Dubs by a final score of 116-100.

It took an entire team effort to scrape out this imposing win, and many contributors from the previous bout who played sub-par went on to prove pre-game predictions right, as they stepped up in big ways with top-notch performances on the evening.

Five C’s saw themselves finishing the contest scoring in double-digits while the team as a whole played some of their most efficient brand of offense thus far into the championship round, converting on nearly 50 percent of their total attempts from the floor and 37 percent of their looks from deep.

Now, while it truly took all eight players who saw significant run to pull out the victory, three, in particular, were the clear path pavers for the shamrocks.

Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart all had major outings for the Boston Celtics, as they went on to combine for a whopping 77 points and 19 assists.

Each of these aforementioned players saw themselves dropping 20+ points and 5+ assists individually which, on the surface, is already an impressive accomplishment, but when one delves a bit deeper into the history of this type of logline, such a box score becomes all the more impressive.

With this finish, Tatum, Brown, and Smart become the first trio since 1984 to post such numbers in an NBA Finals game, with the last group of ballers to do this being Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Michael Cooper.

That year, their Los Angeles Lakers were bested by the Boston Celtics in seven to take home the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

Hopefully now, up 2-1 against Golden State, and with them being the ones to accomplish this feat, the C’s can once again taste glory.

Next. 2 teams that could engage the C's for an Aaron Nesmith trade. dark
