Boston Celtics: 3 keys to a Game 3 victory over Golden State
Boston Celtics key to victory No. 2) Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown must be great
Last Thursday’s Game 1 saw an unusually poor shooting performance from Jayson Tatum but was saved by his game-high 13 assists. Sunday’s Game 2 saw JT shoot the ball a bit better from the floor, but Jaylen Brown lagged behind with 17 points on a 5-of-17 shooting performance.
The Boston Celtics are at their best when their superstars play like… well, superstars. On the biggest stage of them all, Boston’s best must be better and in sync.
When the supporting cast scores and shows up it makes it easier for the Jays, but it goes both ways. The stars need to create great shots for the role players and help elevate their games.
The first game of the series showed that they both do not have to be prolific in the scoring department for this team to win.
However, the two stud wings need to be efficient and take care of the basketball. When they’re fully locked in on defense, it sparks something in the rest of the ball club.
Expect a much better performance from the All-Star tandem, especially with the Celtics returning home.
