The good from Game 2 for the Boston Celtics: Tatum bounced back
The irst team All-NBA superstar, Jayson Tatum, had a decent game scoring-wise Sunday night, finishing with 28 points to go along with shooting splits of 42 percent from the field and 67 percent from beyond the arc.
One of the major storylines from Boston’s Game 1 victory was that Tatum was only able to put up 12 points on 18 percent shooting from the floor, the worst of his career in a playoff game.
Every time the wing has a bad game in the shooting department, he always responds with a much better performance. He scored 10 points in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals and then went on to drop 31 the next game. In Game 3 of the Semi-Finals, he also only put up 10, and then went on to score 30 in Game 4.
One of the many bright spots of the young stud’s game is that he has the ability to bounce back in big ways after underperforming the game before. A mentality similar to the late Kobe Bryant, Tatum is still a tenacious scorer even after having a poor performance which is very promising for the development of his game.
While he did have a bounce-back game scoring, there are still aspects of his offensive play that could be cause for some concern. Everyone knows Tatum is a prolific scorer but what he still struggles with sometimes is his ball control.
JT had four turnovers in the game which was the second most behind only Marcus Smart, who had five.
Jayson Tatum had a better performance offensively, but that was one of the only good takeaways from the game.
