Boston Celtics target No. 3) DJ Wilson

The 6-10 power forward/ small-ball center, DJ Wilson is by far the most talented free agent on the market, and his game could not be more of a different look than Time Lord’s, but there is much to be said for changing the way the Boston Celtics play at both ends.

There is no way a mirror of Robert Williams exists on the market, and this player has performed well in the league as of this season.

It was only a short four-game Covid-related stint with the Toronto Raptors, but the forward averaged 7.5 points, four rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game on 73 percent shooting in only 13.5 minutes nightly.

The Raptors elected to move on from his services in favor of adding more of a perimeter threat in Armoni Brooks.

Toronto was loaded with big men so the fit was questionable from the start. We are down a big in the rotation and Wilson could make an immediate impact in spot minutes.

Interestingly enough, Raps fans were clamoring for the team to keep him for the remainder of the season. Their loss could be Boston’s gain in the short term while Rob is on the mend from surgery.

DJ is capable of guarding up to three positions well and has a more diversified offensive game.

Again, the Boston Celtics will not be able to replace the defensive prowess of Robert Williams, but a move like this may stabilize their offense for the time being and bolsters the defense in other areas that do not include paint protection.

The C’s have many options to sign for temporary relief amid Williams’s month-long absence, and they could go with the classic athletic shot-blocking five-man or replace him in an entirely different way with Wilson.

Next. 3 problems the C's must fix if they wish to win an NBA title. dark
