3 Boston Celtics players on the cusp of being cut loose this summer

Boston Celtics player No. 3) Aaron Nesmith
With every passing day, it seemingly becomes more and more apparent that, on draft night of 2020, the Boston Celtics may have made a mistake when they selected Aaron Nesmith 14th overall.
No, this is not us saying that the wing is a bad player and that he can’t one day live up to the semi-lofty expectations that came into the league with him (viewed as arguably one of the best scorers and the best shooter in his respective draft class), but, frankly, he just might not be able to reach his full potential on a team like this.
It’s quite evident that the C’s are in a win-now mode as they are only continuing to jolt up the Eastern Conference standings and are now penciled in as legitimate threats to take home the Larry O’Brien Trophy by year’s end.
This is no place for a player like Nesmith, for the sophomore needs ample time on the floor, focus from his coaching staff, and a long enough leash that allows him to make mistakes in order for him to properly develop.
With how things currently stand, Boston can’t provide any of these things for the youngster.
With this, we believe that, come the offseason, the Celtics could look into shopping the wing in an effort to bring back some players that could be seen as better equipped to help the team win in the now and, should they do this, we at HH are under the impression that there could be a couple of teams, in specific, looking to vie for his services.
This summer, perhaps looking to cash in on the value that remains of his former lottery-pick status could be the best course of action for the front office to take.
