Boston Celtics stud No. 1) Daniel Theis

Since returning to the Boston Celtics back at this past February’s trade deadline, fans and media pundits alike have been waiting to see a full-on “I’m back” type of performance from Daniel Theis; one that sees him showing the grit, grind, and the inside-out game that made him a fan favorite during his first stint with the franchise.

Early on, it felt like Wednesday’s bout against Utah was going to be that kind of night and, luckily, our intuition proved to be right, as he was an absolute menace all over the floor.

Throughout his near 17 minutes on the floor, the 29-year-old showed off that classic defensive tenacity, be it when covering All-Star, Rudy Gobert, backup, Hassan Whiteside, or, simply, when serving as a help defender where he fearlessly halted a potential poster slam by Jordan Clarkson and altered a bevy of other attempts.

On offense, he showed off his rather underrated shooting stroke from both beyond the arc and with a tough fader over the 3x Defensive Player of the Year while also showcasing his unbelievably beneficial abilities to move off the ball to set himself up for lead-pass scoring opportunities.

By game’s end, the veteran saw himself boasting 11 points, three rebounds, two steals, one steal, and one block on 62.5 percent shooting from the field.

Due to his all-around efforts against one of the best big men in the game today, he received a standing ovation from the TD Garden crowd in the first half of the contest.

‘Twas well deserved, indeed.
