Boston Celtics dud: Sam Hauser

When there’s a game like this, where essentially every player who saw extended play perform exceptionally well, it’s rather hard to write about someone who should be viewed as worthy of the moniker “dud performer” without feeling a bit guilty about it.

However, there’s a duty to be done and, be it fair or not, the most deserving of the eight players who saw minutes on the night was rookie forward, Sam Hauser.

Now, granted, 12 minutes isn’t really all that much time to make a significant impact, but the 24-year-old, despite having made a wide-open 3-pointer late in the third to extend Boston’s lead to 19, was virtually a non-factor for the team on the night.

By game’s end, Hauser saw himself finish with an underwhelming box score of three points and one rebound on just 1-for-4 shooting from the floor and 1-for-3 shooting from deep.

Like we said in the beginning, on a night like Sunday there aren’t really any players that we can look to and say that they were absolute duds. That said, of all those who saw action against the Oklahoma City Thunder, with his less than efficient jumper and pedestrian counting stats, be it fair or not, Sam Hauser is our choice for dud of the game.
