Boston Celtics Daniel Theis trade target #2: C Nerlens Noel, NY Knicks

The Knicks appear headed directly for a teardown that could see the entire foundation of the current culture dissolve in one fell swoop.

Talks of Tom Thibodeau being dismissed are shockingly audible after a rapid turnaround of the franchise that led to their first postseason appearance since the second full season of Carmelo Anthony in a Knicks uniform back in 2014.

Unfortunately, it was the same old Knickerbockers in the 2021 playoffs, and Trae Young became the villain that put a curse on the team and ended that era before it started.

Simply put, if heads are going to roll, the Celtics should strike. One player that could be had if the team is sold on Mitchell Robinson enough to hand him a large extension and on Jericho Sims’ development throughout his rookie season is Nerlens Noel.

Noel was most useful when Robinson went down, but he was handed a decent-sized deal anyway even after the blue-chip center set to return this season.

If the Knicks want to change things up and grab a big more compatible with Sims and Robinson, Theis has proven able to play alongside another big for stretches. Of course, Boston would once again be forking up more to make this swap copasetic for both sides.
