Boston Celtics free agency option No. 2) Darius Miller

A casual NBA fan would not recognize the smooth-shooting veteran forward, Darius Miller, therefore, not many fans may understand just how perfect of a match it could prove to be should he land with the Boston Celtics.

The 6-6 forward appeared in just 18 games in the 2020-21 NBA season for the Oklahoma City Thunder where, during those contests, he managed to shoot over 40 percent from the outside.

Although he was waived by the Thunder, Miller has still so much he could offer to a contending team.

The lengthy wing can guard up to three or four positions effectively and is a three-level scorer.

He has a decent mid-range touch, the ability to shoot it with range off of screens, in transition, or off the catch and shoot, and is a capable slasher who can play effectively without the ball.

At 31 years old, the vet offers a level of seasonedness and leadership to a generally young team in the Boston Celtics.

Sometimes, the best moves a team makes are getting sleeper signings that were completely not expected or off the radar totally.

In a hunch, the former Kentucky Wildcat is a wildcard worth adding to the deck for the Celtics as they shuffle around the roster.

In a nine-game playoff stint with the New Orleans Pelicans, he shot over 37 percent from deep in over 18 minutes per contest in 2018. Just a taste of the level of marksman Miller could be for the C’s.

It’s Miller time!
