The Chicago Bulls will be coming in at far from full strength to the TD Garden tonight as the Boston Celtics look to rebound from a miserable non-spread cover against the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center.

Zach LaVine has a knee injury that is keeping him away from action after dropping 26 points as the #2 option behind DeMar DeRozan and his own 37-point outburst in a 128-114 Bulls win over Boston back in November. Alex Caruso will also be missing, as will former Celtic and part-time starter Javonte Green.

Sidebar: kind of crazy how vital Green has become as a Bull, huh? 18 starts in 29 games for the Eastern Conference’s top dog. That certainly didn’t seem plausible all too long ago in a different place…

Anyway, things are officially dire right now for the Boston Celtics. They’re at an inflection point so close to the trade deadline, where piling losses could force Brad Stevens to either overpay on the trade market in a desperate attempt to compete (more likely) or change gears entirely and go into seller mode.

Do they fend off the Bulls here tonight as a surprisingly heavy favorite? TBD, but the Houdini is laying down a prediction and providing the odds and TV information for the matchup:

Celtics vs. Bulls prediction

The oddsmakers are leaning far in Boston’s direction because of both the Bulls’ loss of Zach LaVine last night and the team’s merciless beat down at the hands of the Golden State Warriors at the United Center.

This is must-win for the Cs, and they just might, but we’re not biting on either the ML or the spread.

What we could get behind is more scoring after a sub-100 point night for both teams last night. One team will be bouncing back in the win column, but perhaps both rebound in the scoring department.

Pick: 216o (-110)
