The year is now 2022 and, technically, the Boston Celtics have yet to lose all year.

2021 was a full year of disappointment, as the shamrocks ultimately finished with a sub-500. record of 50-52.

Now, they find themselves with the opportunity to get back to their winning ways during these next 46 games on the schedule, though it’s evident that changes must be made to the rotation if they wish to do this.

While many — including ourselves — believe trades are necessary to get the C’s moving in the right direction, there are also some simpler adjustments Head Coach, Ime Udoka, can make, such as redistributing player minutes in an effort to get others some much needed time on the hardwood.

In regard to this latter agenda, today we at HH discuss 2 players we hope to see more of in 2022:

Boston Celtics player No. 1) Payton Pritchard

While Payton Pritchard has unfortunately hit somewhat of a sophomore slump thus far into 2021-22, of late he has been a beneficiary of recent absences from main players who have been sidelined due to Health and Safety Protocols which, as a result, has upped his level of play and has given back a sign of life to the young point guard.

Over his last 10 outings, the second-year guard has found himself logging 21.9 minutes for the Boston Celtics where, in turn, he has posted stellar per game averages of 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists on 43 percent shooting from the floor and 41 percent shooting from deep.

Entrusted with a larger role as of late, the 23-year-old has managed to up his production and, while Boston has still struggled to secure wins, he has certainly not been a reason for why.

His ability to drive the lane, space the floor, and simply provide energizer bunny-type hustle are all attributes that were missed early on in the year and have shown to be pleasant contributions during this recent stretch.

From now until season’s end, we hope to be seeing his recent level of involvement continue on, for he can be a fantastic role player if given consistent action.

Boston Celtics player No. 2) Jaylen Brown

As we all know, this Boston Celtics team will only go as far as their star tandem of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will take them.

Unfortunately, however, the duo has only managed to play 18 games with one another, as we’ve seen Brown sidelined for long stretches of time due to a nagging hamstring strain and COVID-19.

As a result, the Jays haven’t been able to really find their groove whilst running alongside one another which, in turn, has been a major factor for why the team has struggled mightily.

This must change in 2022 if the C’s wish to have any semblance of a chance at contending for a postseason berth.

On the year, Brown has been rather effective when he has managed to suit up, averaging 23.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and half a block on 44 percent shooting from the floor and 35 percent shooting from deep.

Seemingly heading toward another All-Star selection with the production that he has managed to put forth during the limited games he has played this year, moving forward the Celtics need more JB in their life to simply have a chance of attaining an above .500 record by season’s end.

Next. 3 star trade targets that would save the C’s season. dark
