Of late, Boston Celtics players seem to be dropping like flies as COVID-19 Health and Safety protocols make their rounds on the roster.

Because of this, it would appear as though the shamrocks are heading towards a string of games that will undeniably serve as a challenge and, more than likely, will have the team continue to drop down the Eastern Conference standings.

Because of this, it is more imperative than ever for the front office to look into making roster bolstering moves in an effort to try and save their rapidly sinking season.

Despite their sub-.500 record they should still have their sights set on making a playoff run come year’s end and should try to acquire as much talent as possible to help complement the team’s star tandem in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

To us, there are quite a number of options rumored to be available around the league that Brad Stevens and co. may wish to keep close tabs on and, recently, the folks at Bleacher Report concocted a deal that would land one of our favorite potential trade targets in veteran wing, Terrence Ross, and the exact package reads as follows:

Citing his proven track record of being a reliable scoring threat throughout his decade-long career, writer, Zach Buckley, believes that trading for the 30-year-old could ultimately prove to be a wise move for the Boston Celtics:

"Ross, the veteran left behind during last season’s fire sale, looks like a fish out of water as the 30-year-old stranded on a rebuilder. He hasn’t exactly greased his path out of town with his least productive effort in years, but trade suitors should give him the benefit of the doubt for his track record as an ignitable shooter, athletic finisher and microwave scorer.Boston’s offense needs that kind of jolt, especially off the bench. Celtics reserves rank 27th in scoring and 23rd in field-goal shooting, a big reason why their average plus/minus is in the red.Should the Shamrocks build some momentum between now and the deadline, they might sense their ceiling is high enough to move future assets for instant-impact contributors. Aaron Nesmith holds significant potential as a shooter, but he isn’t helping the Celtics right now. Moving him, Juancho Hernangomez and a second-rounder for Ross would effectively take nothing out of the rotation while adding a major weapon to it."

As we previously mentioned, Ross is, and has consistently been one of our favorite trade targets for quite some time now, as he’s a much-needed offensive weapon who has managed to excel in a spark-plug scorer role for the majority of his career and can be had at a minimum price thanks to his team-friendly average salary of just $12 million from now until the end of 2022-23.

While Buckley did get it right when he stated that Ross’ season turnout has not been all that impressive (11.1 points, 2.4 rebounds on just 29 percent shooting from deep), it must not be forgotten just how effective he has been over the years whilst predominantly coming off the pine.

Since 2018, the veteran finds himself boasting quality per-game averages of 14.6 points and 3.3 rebounds on 37 percent shooting from distance.

Though some may believe it to be a bit premature for the Boston Celtics to part ways with last year’s lottery selection, Aaron Nesmith — and we can absolutely see their point — bringing on a guy of Ross’ expertise while keeping their TPEs fulling intact and not having to part with any first-rounders may be too intriguing of a deal to pass up on, especially if they can make even more moves on top it with the assets they manage to keep.

What say you Boston Celtics fans?

Do you believe this deal would be worth it? Perhaps you think it’s a bit too steep of a price?
