Boston Celtics trade target No. 3) Cam Reddish

Ok, so here’s where we start to see some new and more intriguing potential trade targets being listed.

Selected 10th overall back in the 2019 NBA Draft that saw the Big-3 from the Duke Blue Devils in Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, and Cam Reddish all be taken in the lottery, the wing has yet to live up to his lofty expectations in the NBA and now, according to league sources, the Atlanta Hawks may be open to moving their young building block and, according to Quinn, the Cs should be interested:

"Reddish seems like a near-ideal option for the Cs to pursue with perhaps a little less in the way of competing interests and a lot of upside for more than the solid role player he is already."

Without a doubt a player with high upside, though perhaps not at as consistent of a level as many had hoped when coming into the association, the 22-year-old has managed to show glimpses of being a solid two-way contributor at times.

Seemingly improving in year three, Reddish is posting 11.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game on 37 percent shooting from deep. Measuring in at 6-8 with an impressive 7-1 wingspan, the youngster clearly has an impressive build to go along with his impressive individual skill-set, thus making him a very intriguing prospect for the Boston Celtics, let alone any team to consider pursuing.

That said, the problem we have with this idea is considering the price in which it will likely take to inevitably convince Atlanta to part ways with Reddish for, at the moment it’s rumored that it would take at least a first-round pick to pique the front office’s interest.

Now yes, for a player of Cam’s potential offloading a package with the centerpiece being a future first seems to be a fair bargain, but it mustn’t be forgotten that teams would still be taking somewhat of a risk in this hypothetical exchange, for the third-year baller is a rather raw talent and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he never manages to unlock his potential.

With guys like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in tow, Boston’s front office should be looking to acquire more sure-fire/ safer talents in an effort to try and win in the now.

We at HH are by no means opposed to seeing the Celtics shipping out draft capital in a trade this year, but we believe that, if they do, it should be used in lower-risk moves.

With all the question marks still surrounding Cam Reddish, it’s hard to justify that he’d be a low-risk option for Stevens to consider.

Verdict: Pass
