Boston Celtics player No. 3) Marcus Smart

The most polarizing player on the Boston Celtics, Marcus Smart is also likely the team’s biggest X-factor for the season as a whole, let alone for the remainder of the 2021 calander year.

Playing the most important position in the game today, the veteran guard has had an undeniably up and down season serving as the team’s full-time floor general.

Through 27 games played, the 27-year-old finds himself posting per-game averages of 11.3 points, 5.6 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and a league leading 2.2 steals per game.

Unfortunayely, however, his efficiency when putting up these numbers has not been all that hot, for he has shot an abysmal 39.8 percent fromt he floor and an even worse 29 percent from deep all while coughing up two turnovers a game (through the last sixt this number has risen all the way to three).

Especially with Jaylen Brown still sidelined with a nagging hamstring ailment, Marcus Smart is unequivocally the second most important player on the C’s roster when it comes to competing for wins.

Because of this, it’s more imperitive than ever that he plays at his absulute best night in and night out, for, should he flounder, so too will Boston’s success rate in 2021 and, likely, beyond.
