Boston Celtics Dennis Schroder PG trade option #3: Devonte Graham

The last time I spoke on the New Orleans Pelicans in relation to Dennis Schroder, we mentioned names like Tomas Satoransky and Garrett Temple as possible return pieces for the Boston Celtics.

Pelican Debrief’s Aaron Kellerstrass even said the two should be gone if a good enough offer came along:

"Temple and Satoransky are not part of the long-term plans and should be gone if there is anyone that wants them. These two are further proof that David Griffin botched the Long Ball saga by not trading him before last year’s deadline when they could have gotten more than two journeymen who should probably not be getting minutes in an NBA rotation."

But in reality, it may not be too hard plucking offseason acquisition Devonte Graham from the Pels instead.

Graham has proven to be a tough fit so far in NOLA, shooting under 38% from the field. The Houdini has long seen Graham as an ideal microwave scoring fit in the second unit, and the fit in New Orleans’ starting lineup may prove that’s where he belongs on a more full-time basis.

It’d take a bit more to acquire Graham than it likely would for Morris or McConnell, but the upside is highest for a player who averaged over 18 points, 7.5 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in his second year in the league.
