Horrifying Boston Celtics trade target No. 3) Bradley Beal

The thought of the Boston Celtics bringing a player like Bradley Beal onto their roster is most certainly not a scary concept to ponder on — after all, the man is a bonafide stud who is one of the most lethal scorers in the game today.

What makes the idea of trading for the likes of the star guard horrifying is realizing just how big of a haul it likely would take for the Washington Wizards to even consider shipping their franchise player to eastern Massachusetts.

Over the past several months, many have gone about and concocted trade packages that they believe could bring Beal to Boston and, often, we’ve seen two trending themes — either there’s a slew of young talents coupled with a plethora of future draft capital being shipped out or Jaylen Brown is used as the all-encompassing centerpiece in the package being sent to Washington.

Either way, we believe this is simply too much for the Celtics to give up.

Yes, we understand that the two-guard is a phenomenal player who has close personal ties with franchise building block Jayson Tatum, but does that mean that the Cs should be willing to give up on their own former lottery picks, a bevy of future draft assets, or Brown who just nabbed his first All-Star nod last year, is still seemingly getting better, is three years Beal’s younger, and is on an average salary that is nearly $10 million cheaper?

Answer: no… at least, not this season.

To us, not only do we believe the process of dealing for him would be scary, but his acquisition would lead to an absolutely terrifying salary-cap situation as well.
