When it comes to a team like the Boston Celtics, the potential that they possess in the immediate future is virtually just as bright, if not brighter than that which they seemingly have when looking five years down the line.

Of course, this statement is largely influenced by the fact that, on the current roster, the Cs find themselves with three talents ranked within the top-50 players in the NBA all 27 years of age or younger, with two in Jaylen Brown (ranked 26th) and Jayson Tatum (ranked 11th) that are under the age of 25.

That said, though it’s still undeniable that their future is one of the more promising in comparison to other teams across the league’s landscape, there’s still plenty of work to be done should they wish to secure their status as being built for both the now and for later and, frankly, it’s never too early to start planning ahead.

So long as it doesn’t cost them their chances of legitimately competing as soon as this season, we at the Houdini are under the impression that the front office should be looking around the league to see if they can potentially snag some young assets to simply add to their collection, preferably those that are still attached to their rookie deals.
