What Boston Celtics fans should monitor No. 3) Is the hype around Grant Williams warranted?

After a rather impressive rookie campaign in 2019-20, Grant Williams had somewhat of an underwhelming sophomore season with the Boston Celtics and now has fans questioning whether he should still be considered a key option within the rotation moving forward.

Yes, he did manage to improve his 3-point stroke considerably (converted on 37 percent of his attempts last year), but failed to up his production in virtually every other area of his game despite receiving more playing time.

Though feelings from fans are rather low in regard to the third-year “big”, however, recently reports have begun to surface suggesting that he’s coming into the year with “something to prove.”

A reportedly slimmed-down Williams is getting rave reviews from his fellow teammates, including All-Star wing, Jaylen Brown, who stated that the 22-year-old “looks great.”

"“He’s moving well. His timing is on point. I’m super excited for Grant this season. I’m looking forward to see the improvements he’s made in the offseason.”"

While his status for tonight’s game is still up in the air, should he ultimately suit up and see on-court action, fans should look to see if these rumblings of him being quicker and more athletic are actually true.

Though we may think he’s the odd-man-out of the C’s rotation this year, we’d be more than happy to be wrong.
