Takeaways from Boston Celtics media day: Robert Williams is focused

Over the past few seasons, Robert Williams has dealt with a ton of injuries. Even last year, when he had what many consider to be a breakout season, he was still hurt a ton.

This offseason, Williams says he really worked on getting healthy and focusing on the upcoming season. He said that he “just focused on getting healthy this summer.”

This is amazing news for Boston Celtics fans who have been worrying about his health ever since he stepped foot in the NBA. He also noted that he has been practicing “calming down when playing. Just moving on and not getting down on myself.”

Many expect Williams to be the full-time starting center this season. If he can stay healthy and focused, there’s no reason he can’t do just that.

Takeaways from Boston Celtics media day: Al Horford could start at power forward

When the Boston Celtics traded for Al Horford this offseason, one of the biggest debates was over who would start at center. Would it be Horford, or would it be Robert Williams?

Well, new head coach Ime Udoka hinted at the fact that, while no final decision has been made, both could end up starting.

"“Al is a very cerebral player,” said Udoka. “He can work well with another big.”"

Udoka also addressed the fact that, while the “double bigs” strategy didn’t work out in Philadelphia with Horford, it wasn’t necessarily Horford’s fault.

"“What didn’t work well was us putting him in the right spots in Philadelphia, “ Udoka said. “He’s looked great. He’s in tremendous shape.”"

It is very possible Horford and Williams both start together at the four and the five. What would you think of that potential lineup?
