Boston Celtics likely goner #1: Luke Kornet

There should always be interest in a center from the SEC that stands seven-foot-two and shoots 3s with fluidity like Luke Kornet does. The former Vanderbilt Commodore had a rough go during an unusual 2020-21 season, though signs of decline had shown the season before that.

Brad Stevens didn’t exactly see the best play of Kornet’s career, with his 3-point shooting cratering to career-lows. As a stretch-five with little in the way of a back-to-the-basket game, that’s essentially his entire value on the floor.

But some other GM could write off his struggles as a Cs problem and snatch Kornet up. Stevens probably won’t put up much of a fight to retain him.

Boston Celtics likely goner #2: Jabari Parker

Jabari Parker does have another year on his deal, but Stevens could cut that final year with almost no consequences. The former #2 overall pick didn’t exactly prove indispensable during his time in Boston in 2021.

With rumored interest in guys like Jeff Green (who signed with the Denver Nuggets) and Rudy Gay, Parker is likely just a signing away from losing his spot on the roster.
