The Boston Celtics are in a very interesting spot as a franchise.

They have two young stars in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, a new head coach in Ime Udoka, and a new President of Basketball Operations in Brad Stevens.

The immediate goal is to put as much talent around Tatum and Brown as possible. Cs fans have extremely high expectations.

Stevens expressed the desire to get older this offseason. Adding veteran minimum type players should be an easy route to do so.

At the same time, adding cheap, quality players to the roster should be a top priority. Any talent surrounding the Celtics’ stars would be of great help.

Unfortunately, the Boston Celtics do not have a lot of money to work with. After re-signing Evan Fournier (which most expect them to do) they will be left with minimal cap space.

So, outside of veteran minimum players, who could they target?

Well, in the past few years there have been a bunch of players who outplayed their contracts. Teams are taking chances on a ton of overlooked players.

Two of the best examples of this are Cameron Payne and Torrey Craig with the Phoenix Suns. Both play for very little money but contribute for the Suns on a nightly basis.

Other examples include Reggie Jackson of the Clippers and Bobby Portis of the Bucks. Both are contributing on the biggest stage.

If the Celtics can find one of these diamonds in the rough, it would be able to immediately help their bench for cheap.

So who could some of their options be this summer?
