DJ Augustin and Danuel House provide much-needed bench depth

This adds two solid veterans to the Celtics’ bench while giving up little in exchange. Meanwhile, the Rockets open up two roster spots for younger players.

DJ Augustin would help shore up Boston’s lack of guard depth now that Walker is gone. He played solid in his time with Houston last season.

In 20 games with the Rockets last year Augustin played 20.8 minutes. He averaged 10.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.

He shot 42.4 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from three-point range in those games. Though he is only 5-11, his veteran presence would certainly help the C’s guard rotation.

As for Danuel House, he would bolster Boston’s wing depth. He averaged 8.8 points last season and shot 34.6 percent from deep.

It was his worst year from three-point range in a while, likely due to a lack of talent around him. If put in a better situation, House could return to being an elite threat from behind the arc.

For the Rockets, this would clear up some roster spots for them, while also adding some picks. They’ll likely take Evan Mobley with the second overall pick and could look to add more rookies to the roster.

The Rockets add young players to their rebuild while the Celtics get a little bit older. A solid deal for both sides.
