Grant Williams

Grade: C+

In an article written the other day, Grant Williams’ true value and potential were examined.

Although he had a down year defensively, a large part of it was due to the fact that the team struggled on that end in general.

Williams improved from behind the arc, and can now be considered a knockdown 3-point shooter. With that being said, the Boston Celtics now have a log jam at the center position.

Al Horford and Moses Brown are now on the team, so centers will have to fight for minutes. If Williams can develop into a solid stretch four, he will have a spot on the roster if he isn’t traded.

Romeo Langford

Grade: C

Celtics fans either love Romeo Langford or hate him — there’s rarely an in-between.

He struggles to stay on the court due to injuries but plays some solid defense when he does play.

His role as a playmaker is also intriguing, but he is a very inconsistent 3-point shooter. He would be fighting for minutes with Aaron Nesmith and Evan Fournier if he does stay on the team.

Langford would likely be included in most trades the Celtics could make this offseason.

His potential as a scorer and defender make him appealing to rebuilding teams, but his inability to stay on the court makes it tough for Boston to guarantee him a roster spot if a trade does go down.
