Boston Celtics: 5 players to pursue from the Pacific Division
By Nick Swanson
What a couple of weeks it has been for the Boston Celtics, huh?
Danny Ainge steps down, Brad Stevens gets a promotion and Kemba Walker gets traded to reunite Al Horford with the Cs.
These moves drastically alter the offseason plan for Boston and really throws everything up into the air. While these plans may have gone out the window, there are still a few players that the Boston Celtics should pursue during the 2021 NBA offseason.
Which free agents from the Western Conference’s Pacific division should the Boston Celtics target?
This year’s free agency class looks to be a big “hit or miss” year for every NBA franchise. There are only a handful of superstar or star-caliber players on the field. For the Boston Celtics, they don’t need another superstar, they just need to find good value in the late days of free agency with maybe a couple of high-end name signings.
In each installment of this miniseries, we have gone over a different division of the NBA. We have completed the Eastern Conference and are on the second of three divisions in the Western Conference. The Western Conference part of the series began with the Northwest division and we are now at the Pacific.
This series focuses on one player from each team in a given division, as previously stated this will be for the Pacific. These picks are not predictions as to which players the front office for the Boston Celtics will pursue during the free agency period, these are players that I, personally, would go after if I had that ability.
There may be different reasoning behind each player, whether that be overall skill level, age or potential fit in Boston.
The teams that will be featured in this installment are the Golden State Warriors, LA Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings:
