Boston Celtics’ TPE target #1: Larry Nance Jr

I have been preaching Nance to the C’s for months and now, and I will continue to do so until it comes to fruition. Nance is one of the best passing bigs in the league that can stroke it from outside and defend multiple positions. He hit 41 threes this season, had 107 assists, and split his time as a power forward and small-ball big.

Hence, Nance has plenty of experience switching, popping, and passing despite playing on the struggling Cavaliers. He will come in ready to contribute, and his $10.6 million salary fits right under the TPE’s umbrella. Cleveland will demand no more than a first-round pick and a struggling young player at the end of the Celtics’ rotation.

Boston Celtics’ TPE target #2: Delon Wright

If the C’s fails to attract a free agent point guard, Delon Wright will make a good plan B. He shot 39.8% from 3 with the Kings last season and averaged 3.6 assists on 1.3 turnovers in just 25.8 minutes of play per game.

Wright could facilitate Boston’s second unit with Fournier and play off the Jays as a shooter. He is 6’5 185lbs that has quick hands and can make an impact on the defensive end. His expiring $8.5 million contract makes him an ideal target financially.

He fits nicely under the TPE and would not impede the Celtics from pursuing other free agents the following summer. Sacramento would likely take no more than the Celtics had to give up for Fournier.
