Boston Celtics: 3 HC candidates Cs are looking at in Nets-Bucks series
Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations will have a keen eye on the ongoing Eastern Conference semifinals matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets, despite having to subject himself to watching the two teams that eliminated him from two of the last three postseasons.
As the C’s new brain trust looks to find the next lead voice of the locker room, the current playoff scene will provide new achievements for assistant coaches to put on their resumes.
Both the Bucks and Nets have a chance to win their first championship of the 21st century–and in the case of Brooklyn, their first-ever title–and the support staff for both Milwaukee coach Mike Budenholzer and the sideline roamer during #ScaryHours, Steve Nash, have coaches Brad Stevens has in mind.
Retired former NBAers Darvin Ham and Ime Udoka, as well as former overseas professional Charles Lee, is currently on Stevens’ list of potential next Boston Celtics coaches:
What’s clear about the aforementioned list of players is that Stevens is looking to find a former player to command the respect of his locker room.
That would seemingly take recently let-go Orlando Magic coach Steve Clifford and Brooklyn Nets assistant Mike D’Antoni out of the running while keeping Terry Stotts in the thick of the search. Then again, Stotts is currently speaking to the Indiana Pacers and could well be off the board by the time Stevens is ready to make a decision.
