The grass isn’t supposed to be greener on the other side for former Boston Celtics players.

Sometimes it just is, though.

Throughout the years, numerous players have proven not to be cut out for the pressures of playing for one of the league’s greatest historical franchises, with Jason Terry, Gerald Wallace, and MarShon Brooks all serving as notable examples.

Then, there’s the flipside. The guys that absolutely crush it the minute they leave Beantown to see what it’s like to no longer be a “Masshole”.

*Side note: I thank Brad Stevens for reintroducing that word to the Boston Celtics beat lexicon.

Throughout the last several years–with this year mainly being one of particular interest–players have left the Cs only to see their career soar. Given the nightly struggle Brad Stevens is having getting his current group to put up points, I’m sure he and Danny Ainge would kill to have the following 3 former Boston Celtics back…

…and spoiler alert, the Houdini has a fork in hand ready to eat a lot of words:

Former Boston Celtics player Danny Ainge would have back #1: Terry Rozier

Tonight, the Cs look to rebound from a season-worst loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a matchup against a point guard they traded away, Terry Rozier.

It’s not so much that Rozier is averaging 20/4/4 on a 46/40/82 shooting split. I would say the fact he’s doing so on half the salary Kemba Walker is slated to be making after the Hornets landed Rozier in the very same sign-and-trade that netted Boston Walker is more so the reason.
