The NBA trade deadline is picking up steam as we enter the final hour until the 3 PM (ET) cut-off comes about, and the Boston Celtics have already made some moves.

Earlier in the day, we saw Danny Ainge and co. flip two future second-round picks in exchange for Orlando Magic sharpshooter Evan Fournier.

Though perhaps not the move fans were hoping for, there is still time for the front office to work their charm to acquire a player of more impact for, frankly, this sub-.500 shamrocks squad desperately needs some more talent bolstering.

One high-profile player that many are hoping the Celtics wind up making a move for is fourth-year point guard, Lonzo Ball. Over the past several weeks, we’ve discussed our intrigue in the possibility of the Cs pursuing the likes of the 23-year-old floor general and, upon further review, the Houdini thinks he would be the ideal target for this team.

In the midst of a career year, Ball is posting per-game averages of 14.2 points, 5.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and just over half a block on 43 percent shooting from the floor and 39 percent shooting from deep.

His pass-first mentality would be of great luxury for this stagnant offense already consisting of two great scoring wings in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, while his defensive versatility would also be welcomed in with open arms.

Again, we at HH believe a guy like Ball would be the perfect addition to this reeling Boston Celtics team, and, frankly, the fan base is seemingly under the same impression as well.

Boston Celtics fans want to see a trade for Lonzo Ball at this year’s deadline

When taking to Twitter about the idea of Boston pursuing New Orleans for a deal involving the young point guard, fans were quite vocal about their desire to see such a move take place:

From the comments to the likes and retweets from our recent post discussing the possibility of Ainge making a move for the tantalizing point guard, it appears a large chunk of the fan base is in line with the Houdini’s train of thought: Lonzo Ball would be a fantastic addition to this current Boston Celtics core.
