In recent days, an interesting development has started to form. It seems as though the idea of Brad Stevens being replaced as the Boston Celtics head coach is an idea that is becoming less taboo by the day.
While the idea originally came about because of Stevens being linked to the Indiana Hoosiers head coaching job, it appears as though the former Butler coach isn’t likely to leave the NBA to go back to the college realm.
ESPN’s NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski poured water on that idea, even openly questioning–if not downright denying–the idea of a coach at the professional level going back to the collegiate realm in a response tweet to fellow ESPN writer Tim Bontemps’ report on Brad Stevens denying the idea of thinking about leaving the Boston Celtics.
Per the duo’s verified Twitter pages:
Here’s Brad Stevens’ complete answer on why he has no interest in leaving the Celtics, including, “I’m not a kid anymore. I’m a 44-year-old Masshole. I swerve around others when I’m driving, I eat Dunkin Donuts and I root for the Patriots.” pic.twitter.com/t0sKCiJOfW

It’s incredible Brad Stevens has to even spell this out for people. No one is leaving a head coaching job in the NBA for college anymore. Not the Celtics. Not the Kings. Not anyone, anywhere. Nobody is returning to college unless they’re no longer welcome to stay in pros.

The thing is, while Stevens may not consider the idea of returning to his home state to coach at the collegiate level, a jump from the Cs has never been written off by Woj.
If this is Stevens’ swan song, there will surely be interested suitors for the current Boston Celtics head coach.
Here are four potential landing spots for Stevens if he leaves Beantown this offseason:
