Boston Celtics trade target No. 2) Wayne Ellington

Though the main trade target found on the Detroit Pistons is Jerami Grant, looking at their roster there are actually a few quality players that could be of some use to this Boston Celtics team.

One player in particular that both falls into the price range of the Enes Kanter TPE and whose skillset would actually compliment this Cs team is veteran shooting guard Wayne Ellington.

A pure 3-point shooting specialist who can create off the dribble while also possessing the capability to excel in catch-and-shoot scenarios (59.9 efficient field goal percentage on such attempts), Ellington currently finds himself in the midst of a solid campaign, posting per-game averages of 10.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game on 45 percent shooting from the floor and 42 percent shooting from deep.

Though he’s in no way a “game-changer” by any stretch of the word, the 33-year-old is a competent floor spacing asset (shoots 38 percent from deep for his career) who could seriously help improve Boston’s long-range game.

On just a one-year, $1.6 million contract, he fits seamlessly into the TPE and, with the rumor being that the Pistons are seeking just a second-round pick in a deal for the veteran two-guard, Wayne Ellington finds himself well within Boston’s price range.
