Boston Celtics trade target No. 3) Mason Plumlee

As stated earlier, over the past several seasons, perhaps the biggest problem within Boston’s rotation has been their center position.

Since the departure of Al Horford, Stevens has experimented with a few different options including Enes Kanter, Daniel Theis, Tristan Thompson, etc.

Of the bunch, the player that has found the most success at the pivot has been Theis but, ultimately, his more natural position is at the four.

With this, if the Celtics see themselves looking towards the trade route to bring on another option to roll out at center, they should strongly consider pursuing Detroit Pistons big man, Mason Plumlee.

Through 32 games played, the 30-year-old is posting 10.3 points, nine rebounds, 3.6 assists, and just shy of a block per game on 61 percent shooting from the field.

At this point, it’s evident that the Pistons are a team looking to the future/ a rebuild and, at this stage in his career, Plumlee likely doesn’t fit this timeline despite having just signed with the franchise this past offseason.

On a team like the Boston Celtics, however, he could realistically find himself inserted into the starting lineup come day one — assuming they continue the trend of keeping Robert Williams III in his bench role — and, in turn, help the team try and contend.

At 6-11, 254 pounds he’d be a physically dominating presence to have down low, while his specific defensive-minded/ board gobbling skillset would be a luxury for this rotation that ranks just 17th in rebounds and 16th in defensive rating.
