Player worth trading Marcus Smart for No. 2) Myles Turner

Next up, we see a player we at the Houdini have been enfatuated with the Boston Celtics pursuing for more than a year now in Indiana Pacers center, Myles Turner.

This offseason, Danny Ainge reportedly had the opportunity to bring the 24-year-old big to Beantown in a proposed Gordon Hayward sign-and-trade but, ultimately, got greedy in his negotiation tactics and, in turn, the deal fizzled out.

This was a move — or, rather, lack thereof — that Boston is certainly regretting.

Through 30 games played, Turner is boasting impressive averages of 13.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and an unbelievable 3.4 blocks per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor. With his play on the less glamorous side of the ball, the big man has looked like an early frontrunner for the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Now, as we look at this year’s Cs roster we see the same problem they’ve had since Al Horford left two offseason ago — a lackidasical frontcourt.

If Boston ever were to dangle Marcus Smart, it should be to fill a position in dire need of bolstering.

Myles Turner easily would be a player worth considering in such a scenario.
