Boston Celtics No. 2) Boston brings on a new starting guard and a big

For months now, one of the major holes within the rotation for the Boston Celtics has been at the power forward position.

Though they’ve tried a few different experiments to fill the void at the four, ultimately nothing has worked and, in turn, they still find themselves searching for an answer.

Consistency within the rotation overall will be a key for the team to get out of their current rut, and, though he may be 35-years-old, there are few players at his position more consistent than San Antonio Spurs big, LaMarcus Aldridge.

Despite having been dealing with a hip injury during the early stages of the year, the veteran is still finding himself posting averages of 13.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and just shy of a block per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor and 37 percent shooting from downtown.

His experience both in the postseason and overall in this league could be of great service to this youthful Celtics squad while his expiring contract makes such an acquisition a low-risk move worth making.

Now, in this proposed deal, we see Danny Ainge sending over quite the package to San Antonio so, in Trader Danny fashion, we’d expect him to get a bit more than just the former All-Star.

Becuase of this, we see the Celtics receiving “do it all” point guard Dejounte Murray to fill in for Kemba Walker who we see heading to Texas in this scenario.

In the past, we’ve seen the 24-year-old linked to the Cs as a potential TPE candidate and, even then, we here at the Houdini agreed the franchise should pursue a trade for the baller.

Now, 28 games into the 2020-21 campaign, not only do we still believe he should be sought after by Beantown, but with him coming alongside Aldridge, we see not qualms with offering up a future first-round pick in the process.

In 30.5 minutes per game, the All-Defensive talent is posting 15.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game on 45 percent shooting from the floor.

This new starting five consisting of Murray, Brown, Tatum, Aldridge, and Tristan Thompson is filled with the right amount of playmaking, defensive tenacity, and length that would very likely help the Boston Celtics get back to the top of the Eastern Conference power rankings.
