While the Boston Celtics find themselves rolling, Bleacher Report still finds themselves heavily talking up a George Hill to Beantown deal. The Houdini is tired of this.

After a reletively disappointing start to the year, the Boston Celtics find themselves slotted in the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 6-3 and are currently in the midst of a three-game winning streak.

As the days go by, the team’s slow beginnings look to be turning into a thing of the past and, with this, Cs fans are once again starting to get excited about the season that could be in 2020-21.

However, there are some who believe Boston should consider making moves to better position themselves for a run at glory. These moves consist of roster shakeups, free-agent signings, and trades of varying degrees.

Perhaps the most oft mentioned idea from the media has been for Danny Ainge to pursue the likes of veteran point guard George Hill, who is currently with the OKC Thunder.

Most recently, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report mentioned how he believes this to be the “ideal” trade for the Boston Celtics, citing how he believes the 34-year-old could be a beneficial commodity for the team come the postseason:

"The veteran guard has more than 100 career playoff appearances on his resume, plus a low-maintenance style built around spot-up sniping, secondary playmaking and rugged defense that fits into almost any five-player puzzle. He could land in Boston and immediately provide insurance behind Kemba Walker while scratching itches for additional scoring and spacing help. He’s leading a fish-out-of-water existence with the Oklahoma City Thunder at the moment, but the Celtics should be able to fix that with future draft picks or a prospect like Romeo Langford or Robert Williams III."

Frankly, the Houdini’s tired of this notion that Boston should seriously look into dealing for Hill.

We get it — the man is a sound veteran presence with ample experience in this league and could provide the team with another proven floor general.

However, should Ainge actually pull the trigger on such a move, it would, in turn, make the Jeff Teague signing from this offseason somewhat irrelevant and redundant — for both provide similar attributes and have about the same level of postseason experience — and, perhaps more important, would take away meaningful minutes from rookie Payton Pritchard, who is currently playing himself into 2020 draft steal territory.

Add in the fact that Buckley went as far as to say the shamrocks could dangle Robert Williams, a man who is seemingly having his long-awaited breakout with the team, and you have a horrible idea in the making.

We respect George Hill, and hope he lands somewhere that will properly utilize his skill set. That said, we hope that landing spot is not in Boston.
