Boston Celtics key No. 2) Get Jeff Teague more involved

As we’re sure you’re well aware, we here at HH are big on the addition of Jeff Teague from this past offseason. Even last year, we were talking about how beneficial a guy like him could be to the Boston Celtics, citing his experience and production both as a starter and a reserve in 2019-20 as two of our biggest reasonings:

"With nine years of postseason experience (four of which saw deep runs) Teague could also play the role of mentor and seasoned veteran for this incredibly young Celtics roster (average age hovers around 24 years old). Adding him to this team next season would provide them with a fantastic second unit primary ball handler who, if asked, has shown to still have the capability of stepping into a starting role and producing quite well — averaged 12.5 points, 7.5 assists and a steal per game on 38 percent shooting from deep in 17 starts during the 2019-20 season."

During the preseason, he was seemingly proving us right about our mindset, what with his averages of 11.5 points on 100 percent from deep. This production even managed to roll right along into the season debut, where he put up 19 points and four assists during their hard-fought victory.

Since then, however, we’ve seen him score just nine points total and attempt just one 3 during this two-game skid.

Be it him coming off the pine or, as we’ve suggested, in the starting lineup, a healthy dose of Jeff Teague could prove to benefit the Boston Celtics in tonight’s outing.
