Boston Celtics: 3 X-factors that will determine C’s success in 2020-21

Boston Celtics X-factor No. 2) Aaron Nesmith
One of the biggest problems in regard to the Boston Celtics last season was their putrid excuse for a secondary scoring unit.
Sure, the team’s overall offense was one of the best in the league, thanks in large to the likes of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker, and Gordon Hayward. However, outside of this group, points were hard to come by, as the C’s bench ranked 29th in points per game (28.5), 28th in 3-point percentage (31.8), and 20th in offensive rating (53.6).
During this year’s draft, it appeared Danny Ainge and co. tried to strengthen this unit in a cost-effective manner by selecting Aaron Nesmith with their lone lottery-pick.
An absolute scoring machine during his 2019-20 campaign at Vanderbilt, the wing posted 23 points per game on 51 percent shooting from the field and a whopping 52 percent shooting from deep.
If he performs anywhere close to how he did during his final season in college, the Boston Celtics could have landed themselves an absolute steal of a pick at the end of the lottery.
Bleacher Report is seemingly excited about his potential in 2020-21.
We should be as well.
