What to key in on No. 2) Experimenting with rotations

Heading into this season, the expectation is that the Boston Celtics will be without the likes of Walker and possibly their newly signed center, Tristan Thompson, on opening day.

Because of this, it’s up to Brad Stevens to concoct a serviceable rotation that mitigates the team’s losses — specifically Walker’s.

Currently, there are various different ideas pertaining to what their starting lineup could look like to start the season, with the most popular of them being Jeff Teague filling in at the one, followed by Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Daniel Theis.

However, just because this is the most likely, it doesn’t mean it’ll be the one the team sticks with moving forward.

Thanks to their bevy of talented players, coach Stevens could go in a multitude of directions including throwing Grant Williams into the starting lineup at the four, going big and having Theis at the four and Robert Williams start at the five, and having Smart run the point, just to name a few.

In tonight’s matchup, we’ll likely see numerous combinations of lineups out on the court, as the team will be experimenting in preseason game number one.

Be on the lookout for the one you like the best.
