Player who could benefit from Kemba Walker’s absence No. 3) Tremont Waters

Last, but certainly not least, we see the fan favorite, Tremont Waters, taking placement within this list.

The reigning G-League Rookie of the Year just landed himself another two-way contract with the Boston Celtics this offseason and, according to Forbes contributor, Chris Grenham, has bee working “tirelessly” to earn himself a spot with the team’s rotation in 2020-21.

Kemba Walker’s absence could prove to be a true blessing for the 22-year-old.

Spending a majority of his time with the Maine Red Claws in 2019-20, Waters posted stellar averages of 18 points, 7.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and two steals a game on 43 percent shooting from the field and 35 percent shooting from deep.

Despite only playing in 11 games for the Boston Celtics last season, when bestowed extended minutes the LSU product did manage to produce quite nicely, especially during the team’s November 25th bout with the Sacramento Kings where Waters recorded seven points, three assists, two rebounds, two blocks, one steal, and a box plus-minus of +20 in 19 minutes of action.

Any chance Waters gets will be luxary. With Kemba Walker expected to be out for the first month of action, the young point guard looks to be in as good of a position as any to get a chance to show what he can contribute after a full year in the league already under his belt.
