Boston Celtics trade idea No. 1) A swap of picks with the New York Knicks

This oft-proposed trade between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks is heavily influenced by numerous rumors that have circulated over the past several weeks.

The first rumor this is based on is that the C’s front office is interested in packaging together all 3 of their first-round picks in an effort to move up in this year’s draft.

The second rumor that has circulated is that the Knickerbockers could be interested in trading down from their No. 8 slot that they currently hold heading into Wednesday’s event.

And, lastly, the third rumor this hypothetical trade scenario is based on is that the Celtics are “enamored” with Auburn wing Isaac Okoro, who is found going anywhere from the 7th to the 10th overall pick in a majority of mock drafts.

Because of all these factors listed above, it would appear that New York and the shamrocks are an ideal trade-partner for one another.

This hypothetical deal brings in a player that is highly coveted by the Celtics franchise, while also giving the rebuilding Knicks more draft-capital to better fill their roster with inexpensive deals.

This latter point also could be extremely useful for New York, as they are rumored to be interested in pursuing point guard Russell Westbrook which, in all likelihood, means they want to be competitive as soon as 2020-21.

This deal would give them a total of 4 first-rounders, including a lottery pick, which would help better fill out the roster, providing the All-Star with more talents to work with than what the team currently has should they actually strike a deal for him.
