Landing spot for Gordon Hayward No. 2) Indiana Pacers

Gordon Hayward has been linked to the Indiana Pacers for quite some time now. That said, all of the scenarios in which he heads to the franchise have been a result of a trade between the Pacers and the Boston Celtics under his current contract.

Should the forward opt-out, however, he could still end up making his way to the team via a sign-and-trade, deeming this quite a story-book turn of event for the Indiana native.

Currently, the organization has two All-Star centerpieces under contract in Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis. However, the shooting guard has vocalized his desire of both a big new contract as well as added supporting talent.

Should the forward sign with his hometown team, however, it would accomplish at least one request made by the seven-year veteran.

Truth be told, Hayward’s game fits in with this current Pacers core. In 2019-20, the team wound up ranking middle of the pack in terms of 3-point percentage and dead last in 3-pointers attempted.

Shooting 38 percent from deep this past season and boasting a career average of 37 percent, the veteran would be a welcomed talent within the rotation to better help space the floor, while also giving the team another much-needed scoring threat to help them improve from their 19th ranked offensive rated team.
