Reason why Ibaka is perfect free-agent No. 4) Veteran & postseason experience

Serge Ibaka has graced the NBA with his talents for 11 very productive seasons, 10 of which saw postseason runs (eight were long runs). In more depth, this has equated to a total of 808 games played in the regular season, 144 games played in the playoffs, five trips to the Conference Finals, two trips to the NBA Finals, and one NBA championship.

In a nutshell, these numbers are all greater than every current individual member of the Boston Celtics, and a majority — specifically those in regard to the postseason — are more than what every player has combined.

It was evident during this past postseason run that the Cs were missing some sort of veteran presence to hold them accountable and keep them in check — a prime example would be the numerous double-digit leads squandered to both the Miami Heat and Ibaka’s own Raptors.

With an average age of 25.3 Boston ranked in as the eighth youngest roster this past season. Adding a proven veteran with ample experience would likely only help benefit a championship-aspiring team like the Cs in 2020-21 (rank fourth in title odds next season).

Serge Ibaka clearly provides this and would be a godsend for the franchise if persuaded to sign this offseason.
