Boston Celtics: 3 realistic additions that could make C’s title favorites

A secondary scoring presence
With all the things we’ve discussed as being a weakness on the Boston Celtics, one of the most frequently talked about deficiencies they have on their roster in their mediocre offensive production within their second unit.
On the season, the C’s bench ranks 29th in the association in points-per-game (27.2), 27th in 3-point percentage (31.6) and 22nd in overall offensive rating (52.3).
With this in mind, one of the main goals Boston’s front office should have for this offseason — and, frankly, perhaps the easiest to accomplish — should be to add an offensive-minded players to their second unit.
Jordan Clarkson, in particular, would be a great grab for the team on a cost-efficient deal. Known for his offensive prowess, the sixth year guard was finding great success prior to the March 10th suspension. In 24.2 minutes a night, the 27-year-old saw averages of 15.1 points and 2.7 rebounds on 47 percent shooting from the floor and 37 percent shooting from downtown.
He has proven capable of creating his own shot with impressive handles and quick feet while also having the ability to glide through a defense off-ball and put himself in catch-and-shoot positions which, frankly, both would be great attributes to have off the pine.
Outside of Clarkson, however, the team could look into various other offensive weapons on the open market such as Jeff Teague, Langston Galloway and, perhaps if luck would strike — highly unlikely — Bogdan Bogdanović.
The team indefinitely needs to do the smart and, frankly, simple task of adding offensive weapons to their second-unit if they truly wish to better their chances of contention for next season.
