Boston Celtics: 3 realistic additions that could make C’s title favorites

The Boston Celtics proved to be one of the top teams in the league during the 2019-20 season. However, this offseason, they’ll have a chance to become even more menacing with some suave maneuvers.

It’s an absolute truth that the 2019-20 season was a true success for the Boston Celtics. Registering a record of of 43-21 prior to the COVID-19 hiatus the C’s ranked third in the Eastern Conference standings, fifth in the league’s rankings and on their way to a sixth consecutive postseason appearance.

This year’s campaign continued trends we’ve seen over the past several years. Boston was one of the most menacing teams in the association; the C’s saw two of their players represent the franchise in the NBA All-Star game; Brad Stevens reaffirmed his status as one of the best head coaches in the NBA — the list goes on.

Yes, the successes found on the year are truly a welcoming sight to see for all fans of the organization. However, we would be remiss to say the shamrocks are a perfect unit.

Despite their copious triumphs, throughout the year the team’s weaknesses found their way into the spotlight. From their mediocre backup point guard position to their lackluster front court rotation, the Boston Celtics showed that, while still in a position of contention, they are far from being considered a perfect unit.

Truth be told, while they possess the top-heavy talent to compete against the likes of the Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat and all the other talented squads in the postseason, their overall support system is much weaker than the top-tier teams in the east and, thus, could hinder their chances of realistically attaining their ultimate goal of raising championship banner #18.

However, with a few swift moves this offseason the team could shore up these well documented loose ends and thrust themselves into, not just title favorites in their respective conference but in the entire association.

With this in mind, here are three additions the C’s could make this offseason to improve their chances of title contention as soon as 2020-21:
