With the fate of the 2019-20 season still in limbo, a strong possibility is the NBA’s offseason could commence sooner than we previously thought. With this in mind, who might the Boston Celtics look to add via free agency in preparation for 2020-21?

Prior to the NBA hiatus on March 11th, 2019-20 proved to be quite a successful season for the Boston Celtics. Accumulating a record of 43-21, the C’s found themselves slotted in as the third seed in the Eastern Conference standings, rank fifth in the league record-wise and clinched their sixth consecutive postseason berth.

Night after night they rolled out one of the most menacing starting-5’s the league had to offer, consisting of All-Stars Kemba Walker & Jayson Tatum, arguable All-Star snub Jaylen Brown, former All-Star Gordon Hayward and underrated big man Daniel Theis at the five.

After a 2019 offseason that saw such turmoil an a plethora of roster shakeups, how this team managed to brush all the noise and unfortunate news aside to ascend to such great heights is truly a cause for fans to be jubilant and feel a sense of pride.

Now, with the rest of this year’s campaign being up in the air, this year’s offseason could be coming sooner than previously anticipated. Because of this, the Celtics should solely be looking to build upon their great 2019-20 campaign by adding more talent to their rotation.

First act in doing this will be the NBA Draft, where we’ve already discussed whom the team might want to target with their three first rounders. Next in line — if they continue to go in their traditional order — would be scouring the free agency market.

Here are 3 impending free agents the team should consider signing.
